I wanted to share with you the great news on on the campaign's fundraising success. Please find below the release that we sent out to the press. We could not have reached our goal without so many people's help, especially here in Southwest Georgia. Over 90% of our donations came from here.

Keown raises $246,079 Total,
$110,035 in the 1st Quarter of 2010

The total Cash on Hand as of March 31 for the Keown campaign is $193,792

Over 90% of contributions come from Georgia's 2nd District

(Coolidge)-Today leading Republican Congressional candidate, State Representative Mike Keown is filing his fundraising report with the Federal Elections Commission showing extremely strong financial support across Georgia's Second District.

"The people of Southwest Georgia are giving our campaign an overwhelming response and putting their money where their mouth is," said Keown. "I am truly humbled by the amazing support we're receiving."

The Keown for Congress campaign has dramatically surpassed the expectations of pundits in Georgia and the nation. There are 18 GOP candidates running against incumbent Democrats in Georgia. The Keown campaign has outraised all of the other challenger campaigns combined.

"I do have to say a quick thank you to Sanford Bishop," Keown continued. "His votes to make Nancy Pelosi Speaker, for the National Energy Tax and for Obamacare have shown the people of Southwest Georgia that he does not share our values or have our best interests at heart. He has done a great job making the case for our campaign."

From January 1 to March 31, the Keown campaign raised $110,035. Since the inception of the campaign, $246,079 has been placed in the coffers. Of that total $224,423 has been raised in the Second District. There are 1,114 people who have donated. The burn rate has been low, the campaign has $193,792 cash on hand.

"While we have been amazed by the financial support, that is only part of our plan to win. We are creating a strong grassroots organization in each and every county. Our signs are moving across the district like wildfire," said Keown. "With the strong support across the 2nd district, we are going to send Bishop home and take Pelosi out of the Speaker's office."
