There are two rallies scheduled in the next in the next five days to welcome our state legislators back into session...

GEORGIAalt

Our state legislators return to Atlanta this week, and we are going to welcome them back by reminding them that we are paying attention at the state level, too. Join us on Friday, January 15th to rally at 1 PM on the street side of the Capitol.

We also want to encourage you to visit your representatives. They need to know that we expect them to move quickly to pass legislation that will protect the rights of Georgians.

You may also want to look at the Health Care States Rights Protection Constitutional Amendment that will be proposed in the upcoming legislative session. http://www.judsonhill.com/posts/state-sen-judson-hill-and-the-republican-caucus-announce-georgia-s-positive-plan-for-health-ca

ALABAMA

The Alabama Patriots Coalition are planning a State wide "Winter Welcome Back Rally" in Montgomery, AL.

We are working with our Fellow Tea Party Organizers around the State. Our State wide goal is to encourage Legislator's to pass a State Sovereignty Resolution during the 2010 Session!! We will have the Rally January 19, 2010 on the steps of the State House . The Rally will start at Noon and last till 1 p.m. We are having it in January due to the fact that if this gets passed it must go thru the House, Senate, and the Governor.

Cap and trade:   The Senate is moving on a different version than the House, but the cap and trade system will probably remain.  Senators that are wavering and might be open to opinions include Sherrod Brown, D-OH; Jay Rockefeller and Robert Byrd, D-WV; Evan Bayh, D-IN; Mark Pryor, D-IN; Blanche Lincoln, D-AR; Mark Warner and Jim Webb, D-VA; Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan, D-ND; and Ben Nelson, D-NE.  We also need to keep the pressure on all the Republican Senators.

Health care:  The Senate Finance Committee is voting this week and they should be the focus of our calls and faxes.  Senators that may be influenced include Webb-VA, Carper-DE, Begich- AK, Landrieu- LA, Pryor-AR, Lincoln, AR, and B, Nelson - NE.

Please keep up the calls and faxes and emails.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THURSDAY at Cong. Bishop's office, 12:00-1:00 PM.

Bring your signs against health care (government option and individual mandates), deficit spending, deaf legislators.  We will have brochure packets for members to pick and distribute.  The info brochures have been our most successful endeavor.  When people get them and read them, our website get a big jump in traffic.  Pocket Constitutions will also be available.
