Cap and trade: The Senate is moving on a different version than the House, but the cap and trade system will probably remain. Senators that are wavering and might be open to opinions include Sherrod Brown, D-OH; Jay Rockefeller and Robert Byrd, D-WV; Evan Bayh, D-IN; Mark Pryor, D-IN; Blanche Lincoln, D-AR; Mark Warner and Jim Webb, D-VA; Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan, D-ND; and Ben Nelson, D-NE. We also need to keep the pressure on all the Republican Senators.
Health care: The Senate Finance Committee is voting this week and they should be the focus of our calls and faxes. Senators that may be influenced include Webb-VA, Carper-DE, Begich- AK, Landrieu- LA, Pryor-AR, Lincoln, AR, and B, Nelson - NE.
Please keep up the calls and faxes and emails.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THURSDAY at Cong. Bishop's office, 12:00-1:00 PM.
Bring your signs against health care (government option and individual mandates), deficit spending, deaf legislators. We will have brochure packets for members to pick and distribute. The info brochures have been our most successful endeavor. When people get them and read them, our website get a big jump in traffic. Pocket Constitutions will also be available.
